What is SynthID?
SynthID is Google DeepMind's system for embedding imperceptible digital watermarks in AI-generated media. It lives in the pixels and frequency domain, so it is separate from a visible logo and from ordinary file metadata. Is watermark removal guaranteed?
No. The processor uses dedicated paths for visible marks, metadata, and embedded signals, but results vary and watermark versions change. Regeneration can also alter fine details.
Does processing happen without internet access?
Yes. During the image-processing step, your image is isolated from internet access. Uploads and downloads remain protected through your signed-in account.
Which image formats are supported?
JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, HEIC, HEIF files up to 20 MB are accepted.
How does pricing work?
Every new account gets three free images. Additional credits come in fixed, one-time packs of 1, 5, 10, 100, or 500 images. There is no subscription.
How can I check whether an image still carries an AI watermark?
OpenAI runs a free public verifier at openai.com/research/verify that checks an image for content credentials and known provenance signals. Run your processed image through it to see what remains. No tool detects every watermark, so treat any result as one signal rather than proof.
One credit, one accepted job.
A credit is reserved when a job is accepted. If processing fails, that credit is returned automatically. Purchases are one-time and non-refundable, with no recurring plan attached.
